The SENKEN Tsunami™ 7-inch Santoku Knife pairs Japanese VG10 Damascus steel with a one-of-a-kind blue resin burl wood handle, delivering time-honored precision and a wave of deep blue color to your kitchen.

Its broad 7-inch blade handles vegetables, boneless meats, and fish with ease, making it a dependable choice for everyday preparation. The wide blade also helps transfer chopped ingredients from board to pan.

The blade features a Japanese VG10 steel core surrounded by 33 layers of Damascus steel on each side, forming a 67-layer blade with a distinctive flowing pattern. A 15° double-bevel edge delivers clean cuts with less effort, from thin slices to finely diced vegetables.

Rated at 62 HRC, the blade offers excellent edge retention for everyday food preparation.

Hand-selected burl wood is stabilized with our signature Tsunami blue resin blend, then shaped and polished into a handle that resists moisture and wear. Rounded contours provide a firm, comfortable grip, and natural variations in the wood grain and resin give each handle its own distinctive beauty.

Among my collection, this knife has become my favorite. The most essential part about knives is steel. The core of this one is made of VG-10 - it's one of (if not the) best steels for kitchen knives. Not only is it rust-resistant, ensuring longevity, but its ability to retain sharpness is unmatched. The Damascus pattern on the blade transforms this knife into a piece of practical art. It has no functionality but looks so beautiful. One of the surprises was its perfect balance. You can see it in one of the photos. It feels like an extension of my hand, making chopping and slicing an effortless experience. Also, the knife is extremely light. The handle isn't just for show as well (even though it is stunning). It's well-designed for comfort and holds well in the hand. And the factory sharpening is on point.
